It's a private fund, it's at the discretion of the fund provider to allow withdraws, pay dividends, or take new funds.

It was, AFAIK, open to both retail and institutional investors. They cite liquidity concerns, which is never good for something that's depending on the price of a fixed asset like real estate.

Me neither. Probably something in their fine print that lets them pretend it's ok. Also, desperation makes people do desperate things, consequences be damned.

I've been seeing this for a while...I have one REIT left and it's been cutting dividends slowly. There's one that pays out next week, then I'll dump it. Exiting anything with broad exposure to real estate. Something is coming, who knows what it will be.
