I don't think the average person has a poor opinion of PayPal. It's the more internet/conservative freaks like us that don't like them.

Maybe. I've noticed that a lot of events I attend, whereas they used to accept PayPal as their processor, no longer do so. The one I was a board member of for a short time did so because PayPal was just "difficult" to work with and they were concerned that PayPal would find something "wrong" with the event and hold the cash.

I've had issues with PayPal in the past just closing an account for no reason other than "security" issues. I gave up on them, especially since they're just another payment processor at this point. No need to have an account unless you want to receive money.
