I made my old eyeglass lens nice again. YOu have to use paste not gel toothpaste also. I just put a tiny amount on my wet lenses and then I wet my finger and used it to polish my lens's and it got rid of the old nicotine off the glasses and rinsed well under a strong stream of water, hot is better. I also read that is it good for cleaning jewelry and other stuff like that buy scrubbing with an old toothbrush it'll remove the buildup and make the stuff shine except for pearls "noted in the article". It'll also even using your finger polish your dull faucets in the sink and tub and other metals like chrome or stainless steel. Just thought I'd let everyone know instead of buying a bunch of stuff that is expensive and sometimes doesn't work as advertised.

Thanks for this!

It's timely advice too; I have a library book waiting for me with recipes on making household items from scratch so you don't have to buy expensive name brands. Another book has new uses for traditional things. I'll share tips I find.

Cool. I looked it up and the book is titled, "Homemade: 707 products to make yourself to save money and the earth! ". The other one is, "Cheaper, better, faster: over 2,000 tips and tricks to save you time and money every day" (topics include automotive, cleaning, cooking and cleaning, money and finances, etc.).
