The mayor should have shown up with some local "youth". If there was a conflict the police present should respond correctly. Think how the police respond here but instead imagine their one sided enforcement being used for good and protecting the public peace

You literally can not send any refugee back to the country of origin, per UN policies/ guidelines et al, and only then without a long and lengthy process, that can be appealed at every step.
