If the English channel tunnel is 50 km why wouldn't this work that is only 18 km long?
True, at the same time, channel tunnel is a different tech, it is a hole in the ground and not chunk of straight pieces joined together.
it really all depends if earth stand still (or moves very little)
Yeah saw that had some time trying to figure out what they meant with the longest immersed tunnel but the "Chunnel" is an undersea tunnel not an immersed tunnel...
The Chesapeake Bay Bridge–Tunnel (en.wikipedia.org) has been in service since 1964. It gets hit by a hurricane every few years.
Ooh is that the same bridge as in bridges of Madison county starring Clint Eastwood?
