I've resigned myself to the fact I live in constant danger. I fly planes that can drop out of the sky, I drive cars that can be hit by other drivers. I can get a virus, cancer, food poisoning, or killed by affirmative action clinicians. I can get shot by a nigger. I can get radioactive poisoning by a nearby nuclear power plant, etc. I'm sure I left out many other dangers. I simply can't protect myself against everything, so I don't bother to worry about any of them.

Agreed. We are never truly "safe." Although there is wisdom in the mitigation of risk, it is a matter of self-education and personal responsibility. We should not be listening to these supposed authority figures telling us what to do to be "safe."

mitigation of risk

I just did that recently by leaving a large metropolitan area. I am now in the woods with a well, septic system, backup generator, smaller but paid for house, garden, fewer neighbors. Crisis actors aren't likely to come here to cause a media event, the effect would be too small.

I envy you. Congrats. In 5 months I’ll be able to sell my house and get back to the country. City life has been a pretty terrible experience.
