A piece of equipment needed a socket replaced because of carbon tracking inside the socket. The new one is a little smaller in diameter, and the wire is 60 years old. I guess it doesn't look too bad, and it made the device work again.

That's really cool. I love how innovative some old tech was. Simple yet efficacious designs.

It doesn't do anything near what a modern device would, it just does the one thing - generates audio. But, it's easy to keep going.
