I didn't install the plastic cap on the rj45 keystone, that shaved about 1700 off alone. I could shorten the cable as well because everybody knows that stuff is $100 an inch. edit: short story time related to cable length/cost. Back in 94 I was doing network installs with this older guy who had been dealing with all manner of cabling on the arpanet in universities and gov would always pull the cable drops out of the wiring closet down the hall and tie them to a chair.
