Got a shit looking circuit board? Easy solution, throw it in the dishwasher! A lot of people say not to use detergent, I have gotten away with using 1/32nd or less with no residue left over, the choice is yours. Like anything do your research. Make sure you use a normal to light cycle..... No pot scrubber or extreme heat. Disable the hot air dry as well. If you are super paranoid and have hard to replace custom socketed chips remove them and make a chart of where they go, or just take a picture. Inspect your board and make sure there are no broken traces or cracked or bubbling solder mask. If your solder mask is beat up you should fix that first.

MAKE SURE THE BOARD IS THOROUGHLY DRY BEFORE APPLYING POWER!!!!1!!!1

If you are doing solder rework use a water base spray on flux and this method will get everything off v.s. using a pitch based where you have to soak and scrub repeatedly.
