Was once offered a full-ride through university by my job. I believe the offer is still on the table due to "covid delays." Haven't outright said no to them yet, but that is the true answer. How do you look these people in the eye and say "no" to something like that? Without seeming totally ungrateful? I'm incredibly grateful that they would offer me such a thing, but I have principles that will be broken if I accept.
Then there's the family; should have never told them... then they wouldn't even have known I'm rejecting such an offer.
