The problem then is that a consumer economy is created, which creates a soft, lazy populace. That causes r-selected liberalism/socialism to flourish. A superior K selected military cannot be built with fat soyboys inoculated with socialist ideals. That's the problem the US has right now. I hope the pendulum will swing to 'hard times and strong men' before it's too late.
