That’s true, this is propaganda. Banks didn’t do anything different than usual. The ‘pandemic’ wasn’t real, there were jobs available everywhere and those who actually lost their jobs could get unemployment plus unemployment bonus. I bet customers could usually get the fees back if they asked by blaming the pandemic too. But again the banks did what they do every year, no need to be mad at them. If people used overdraft on purpose to pay for something then they agreed to pay the fee when they signed up for overdraft. It’s unfortunate when they go over by accident but that’s the risk you take with overdraft protection. It’s best to just not have overdraft turned on in the first place IMO.
