It's common to hear people describe fighting in dreams as if one were punching underwater. Everything is sluggish an ineffective.

I've found that in addition to punching I also have trouble shooting guns in my dreams. In my dream it seems to be a misfire that occurs at the critical moment of danger, either on first trigger pull or right after the first discharge with a still active threat. I then need to re-rack the slide only for the same thing to happen. I have also had a couple of lucid dreams where I willed a gun to manifest in my pocket only for it to misfire when needed most.

The question is this; is this something anyone else has experienced, or are there other scenarios you have had in dreams where something fails you at a critical point?

There are ways to induce lucid dreaming. When i try to i generally set set an old time radio program to run during my rem cycle. Lucid dreaming is the shit, nothing feels better than when you can flap your arms to fly semi consciously but still feel like a mere passenger in your own dream. Imagination gone wild.

Yeah I try to tell myself I'm awake multiple times during the day. I'll say it out loud, "im awake", and then hyper focus on details in my surroundings. This has actually translated into my sleep. I've had some success with lucid dreaming after telling myself I'm awake in a dream.

The best for me was an inception-like scenario where I was realized I was dreaming and then woke up. I found that the lucid dream was a dream inside my real dream. It's fascinating what the mind is capable of.

I've been forever chasing this dream i had as a kid. I was in my suburban backyard outside my fathers garage. I flapped my arms and flew. I was such a young child i actually remember feeling heartbroken i couldn't go into the backyard, flap my arms and fly irl. A dream so real it's educational

I always have a 90 pound trigger or some shit in my dreams. I squeeze as hard as I can and the gun just won't fire.

Yeah so opposite of me, I pull the trigger all the way to the grip and nothing happens. Definitely frustrating
