Animal cruelty for the sake of "training" is a slippery slope. Dog fighters use bait dogs puppies and kittens to train their stupid dogs, it's the same thing on a more vicious level.

Too, greyhounds are abandoned and mistreated, left to starve to death etc., when they are done being raced- much like horses. Dog racing in general should be banned.

Field dogs are trained and tested using live birds. I'm sure other sport dogs like retrievers are also similarly trained.

Just like the people who write gun laws, whoever drafted this bill doesn't seem to know much about normal hunting dogs. In order to protect the outliers like greyhounds or fighting dogs, all common dog activities are roped into it. Because who needs a 15 round capacity German shorthaired pointer?

I can only speculate what you mean by "15 round capacity"; my experience with shorthairs is limited and they are impressively stubborn willful and powerful dogs.

Dogs bred for hunting are trained for retrieving which entails care and not viciousness- as far as I know anyway...

I used the juxtaposition of two things that don't go together for humor about the ignorance of people who write laws restricting or banning things. Gun grabbers ask why anyone needs a 15 round magazine. The proponents of the greyhound protection act will likely say something equally uninformed and ridiculous, like asking why anyone needs a hunting dog. Put them together, who needs a 15 round pointer?

I love my German shorthair dogs. The saying about GSPs is, "You'll never be so frustrated, and never want anything else." This is definitely true.
