Any dog or any cat that is allowed to eat that poisonous dry kibble shit they call pet food will get fat and sluggish- just like any fat pig human that won't stop eating. Animals are sterilized, fed 24/7 and lucky if they exercise beyond going out for a wee. Feed your pet real meat.
