It’s the only thing that would make all this bullshit worth it. Not that I’ve had a bad life, not at all, but man I miss the joy dogs have brought into my life. One of God’s greatest gifts to man in my book.
Sometimes, I feel like we don't deserve dogs. They're such special animals. I actually believe they have a sort of "soul" that most animals don't.
It's fascinating how early man and early canines eventually came together to form a symbiotic relationship. Imagine those early days... one of your tribesman, a total Chad, was able to break a wolf and now it is his "dog". At night, it barks at an approaching bear or some shit, waking everyone up so they can grab weapons and deal with the threat. I'd imagine we also used them against human threats, sort of like the police do today.
It started with that.. Dogs might be the most loyal animals in existence, and I think loyalty is a "higher thought" concept.
Out of all the animals in the world they are the most in tune with humans. They’ve brought a lot to the table of mankind in so many ways, of that there is no denial. They are thinkers and surely must have souls, you can see it in their eyes.
I'm not usually a superstitious or spiritual guy, but I do think there's some intangible thing that I guess we could call a "soul" that inhabits humans and, to varying extents, lesser species.
Dogs just seem purpose built for us. They've literally been the most important animal to seeing us through the 200,000ish years of us pushing forward to eventually go to the stars.
All because humans, all over the world, accepted doggos. It's amazing when you think of it with that zoomed out perspective. Also, many powerful people have had pets that greatly influenced their character or decisions in life. Nero had his Senator Horse. Nobles had hounds and such- you think a normally kind and generous lord would be the same on the morning when he found out his favorite doggo passed? No, he's going to be pissed and sad... and may make decisions based on this.
All for doge.
How awesome would it be to be reunited with the dogs you've had over the course of your life?
Oh man, I cried like a pussy with each of their passings. To see, hear, feel, snuggle and smell them again would be the greatest joy ever. They deserve to live much longer than they do, their lives go by too quick. At least for my heart anyway.
All of your pets, lined up as you pass through, pass on, from your first companions to your most recent, all excitedly waiting to feel your touch again, to hear your voice again, to make you proud again. I'm not tearing up, I swear.
