I used to work in a butcher's shop. We'd cut up frozen meat (liver, bone-in, etc.) with a band saw. I had the job of cleaning the thing. The butcher would take the meaty-boney goo home, cook it up and feed it to his dogs. He used to brag that this was how when one of them got hit by a car it walked away with less damage than the car.
