When you adopt a stray they know how good they've got it. I'm pretty sure one of mine grew up on the street. Now that she's socialized with us and the other dogs she is always incredibly happy. She still eats every meal as though she's never eaten, and will never eat again. Other than that she's always happy. I had to do the heimlich on her when she was new to us because she was throwing down that kibble so fast. I think we're over that using an anti-gulp bowl.
