I'm so sorry for your loss, and for anyone who thinks that's too much sentiment you're obviously never loved a dog or had one love you. I lost the last of my English bulldogs two months ago. Olive was 14 and a pure white English and the sweetest little girl you could ever hope for. She's the first I ever put down and ill never do that again, it changed me. I feel like I murdered my best friend. Stay strong OP it can take a while to learn to deal with it. Put lots of pictures around your house.

You did not murder, you spared her pain. Nature can be really nasty making an animal die very painfully and very slowly. Her spirit was released from a body that wore out. You did your duty as it presented itself to you.
