Bear was originally a family pet, but after being diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder, he was sent to a dog pound
That's pretty fucking sad, and lame. I have a border collie, she's mad as a fucking hatter (OCD, possibly autistic, very nervous and reactive. At the same time affectionate, loyal, smart and gentle enough to play with my 16month old son), but I'd never give her up to the pound. Pretty sure I could train her to find koalas if I wanted to. It's not that hard to scent train a dog, particularly one as smart as a collie.
