Something I've noticed. Over the past two years mask mandates were everywhere. It was hard to get out of wearing a mask at least some of the time in most states. But if you look at movies and television drama shows for that period, very few of them have actors wearing masks. Since Hollywood pushed the masks so hard on the general population, this interests me. It seems anomalous. It's like the absence of condoms in most porn videos, even though all porn stars and porn makers are hyper-aware of the problem of sexually transmitted diseases.
Masks just are not sexy. They are not exciting, or adventurous, or bold, or brave, or honest, or open. Plus, actors like to have their faces seen by their audiences. I think these factors played a part in the relative scarcity of masks in the entertainment media. Speaking for myself, when I see a television episode or a video clip where the main actors are wearing masks, I cringe inside, it is so dorky and stupid-looking. Maybe there are many others who react the same way I do when they see actors acting in masks. Something prevented Hollywood from walking the walk on masks.
