Maybe it's different in other places but where I'm at, if you go more than 15-20 minutes outside of the city your options for Internet service are starlink and the aging Hughesnet. Even in surrounding towns you're lucky if you can get Comcast.

I've passed on probably a dozen houses because they lacked any kind of decent Internet service.

I feel like this bill was just another giveaway to major ISPs who just squirreled the money away just like they did twenty years ago when the gov tried the same thing.
