Ah, I thought they used plastic eggs but rather they used eggs that would never have made it to the consumer market anyway and they were donated.
On top of that. yeah, who the fuck would be trying to dye potatoes? Oh, and egg prices over most of the country have come down a LOT. Not to what they should be at but its not like its $15 for a dozen.
As kids, we only used food safe dye on hard boiled eggs that then just went into the fridge to be eaten later. You use the cheap plastic ones for everything else.
