These two ideas are not inconsistent, at least in the minds of the Godless Communist jews. Remember, they share your vocabulary, but not your dictionary. While you might think that "misinformation" means something that is wrong, even if it is spread in good faith. The real definition of misinformation is any statement that does not agree with the ruling bureaucracy (sometimes this is the same as the government, sometimes it is not). It does not matter whether the "misinformation" is true or not, or if it is logically consistent across the bureaucracy, they are capable and well practiced in doublethink. Misinformation is, in any case, merely a transitory term. It will quickly be transitioned into malinformation, which is somewhat similar to misinformation but carries an implied mens rea. This will then be used as the basis for "terrorism" thought crimes, for which they will send you to the gulag. This is why free speech is a hill worth dying on. Without freedom of speech, you are captive of an authoritarian regime (they are, by definition authoritarian as they dictate what you can and cannot say).
