Person X is a male. X wants to find a wife Y. X would like Y to be a virgin because celibate females are more likely to have successful marriages and because celibacy shows strong virtues.

Is X a hypocrite if he himself has had pre-marital sex?

Can X only reasonably expect to find a virgin wife if he himself is also a virgin?

Should X expect Y to be okay with X not being a virgin?

  1. X is a hypocrite.

  2. No. But it'll be less likely as X gets older.

  3. If X doesn't want his wicked past to be a constant point of contention within the relationship, he'll find a Y that's less judgemental than himself.

I imagine if X shows humility and is upfront about how he feels that he made a mistake, I don't really see it being a big problem.

In this day and age yes. Women have the nanny state to turn to for food and shelter and protection and are free to be as easy as beating up a toddler. Free abortions and housing means Sally sue don't need no man. Marriage only works for women because it assures security for them and offspring. Thinking that even a virgin wife will be faithful in this day and age is like thinking it's okay to walk through the hood.

A good key may open many locks, but a good lock only has one key. This may seem unfair bit it is the truth
