2nd pic is a close up of the body after being hit with the spray.

I've never seen a spider like this.

It's a Golden Orb Weaver. aka, a writing spider. Highly beneficial to humans. Yes they get big and kinda scary looking, but they have no interest in harming you. Next time just name it Charlotte and call it your neighbor.

ya pussy

Thanks for knowing the name. They're awesome spiders in a garden.

I'm an arachnophobe for sure. I don't take chances with the fuckers.

Why is it so beneficial? Keneo answered that.

Next time I'll try to let it be. Thanks for the information.

They eat all of the things you hate more than that spider. Including other types of spider.

Also, leave Jumping spiders alone. If you find them in your house there is something in there you don't want to be there and they will kill it and eat it for you and you will never know it was there. They are "assassin bugs" and make for good house mates. Also, they are kind of cute.

A lot of spiders still freak me out a bit, but jumping spiders are just adorable to me, now that I understand them better.

Mainly for the amount of flying insects they consume. They'll catch bugs up to the size of grasshoppers, but more often they catch flies and mosquitoes which can carry diseases to humans. The same is also true of bats.

Black and Yellow Argiope. Non-agressive to humans, very beneficial.

Orb spider. Not aggressive and harmless. Kills pests.

I have many times. They are a great spider to have in your garden, kill bad bugs like crazy. They make an awesome web. We used to feed them by throwing plant eaters into their webs and watching them instantly run, grab and web them up, hanging them for food later. Don't kill them, without spiders this entire planet would be devoured by beetles and such. I'll see if I can find the name.

That's just a big garden spider man. Good to keep the bugs out of the garden.

Your irrational fear drove you to react like a nigger. It's an orb weaver and they are great spiders to have around your house. Next time just pick it up and move it somewhere else. Don't be such a pussy.

Most people here going "muh beneficial" to spider have never been bitten by one.

Days of high fever, chills, body ache, swelling...

If they stay outside and away, great. If they try to get inside or too close, goodbye.

I've alway heard people call the cotton spiders. They can get pretty good sized.

Thats the largest spider I've ever seen in person.

Spiderman is going to be pissed.

I don't think it is that bad. It doesn't look like a Black Widow with an egg sack on her back...or a snake skin in your Christmas Tree decorations. It was an "air tight" container, why do you ask?

I saw a black widow spider once. It was against a building and some kid said "hey come here and look at this spider!" It was larger than I had expected and intensely black and with the red hourglass- absolutely beautiful. No one killed it, simply marvelled at how beautiful it was and left it alone.
