Vegetables cleanse and detox the body. Meat builds the body. Grains/Starches are dense energy sources.
People go vegan because they never ate a vegetable in their entire life, now they suddenly feel better. However, you cannot go from one imbalance to the other end fo the spectrum. Veggies should be eaten at about 1/2 of the plate. The other 1/4's should be grains and meat.
