It's always the front end suspension that fails on those things. I got one out back that needs some work, but the wife found someone giving away a low mileage pickup the other week.

Lol - called it! 30 years ago I resurrected one from the dead too: It had 3 years of hard use, and now our son was old enough to use it. I wound up sleeving the "struts" with rubber hose and piling washers on the top and bottom. Work pretty well. Our son specialized in running that thing straight down the hill and into a curb - ejecting himself out onto the grass where he would roll around and laugh before doing it again. Momma Duck was horrified the first time she saw him do it - thought he was dead for sure. But after she watched him do it 3 or 4 times, she turned to me and asked what was wrong with him. I just replied that he was a boy. Took her awhile to accept that we're wired a touch different.
He tore the front end out of that thing in about 3 weeks when he was 3 years old. We found another for free in Horsetrader, and it made it about a month.
