Because why not? Pretty good write up from design to build and includes cad drawings as well.

From the post:

>A few years ago I developed a few clever ways of rackmounting non-rackmount equipment so it could look neat in my HiFi rack enclosure.1 The goal was to have a professional-looking setup that would support input from my TV, spotify, Airplay, DJ controller and other sources while being able to drive a subwoofer with room correction and integrated crossover. As part of this I also developed some HiFiBerry accessory hardware and code to allow streaming, input selection, remote volume control and track identification.2 The rack conversions, hardware and code weren’t used long (as I tend to change around my HiFi gear frequently) but I figured given the work I put in it’s likely useful to someone else wanting to rackmount their HiFi gear or mess with HiFiBerry hardware.

No pics anymore, but it was a Thermaltake product,~20 years ago. Back when Thinkgeek wasn't shit, Newegg didn't sell socks, and Tigerdirect still existed.

Yeah, that was the funny bit, the cupholder. Not sure how old you are but that was THE joke back when optical drives came out.

A lot of that stuff came from the old Bastard Operator from Hell...thing. It's been some time, I can't remember if that was a blog or what, but there were a lot of great nerd jokes. Like when you tell the user to "right click on the desktop" and you hear some weird squeaky noises, they say they did it, and you learn they pulled out a marker and wrote click on their desk.

I once worked with a lady who would press CAPSLOCK, type the capital letter, then press it again to go back to lowercase. That dumb bitch...I installed some rootkit on her machine and would open and close her cd drive, reverse her mouse, set her keyboard up as Dvorak. But the best joke was more practical...I put tape over the mouse sensor. She'd call me over, "My mouse isn't working." I'd take the tape off, "it's working fine, see?" Then put the tape back on.

Man, I was a real asshole back in the day.

haha. So you were a BOFH. Also, probably sub7.

Yeah, I've been around for a while.

That's IT, Sub7! Memories. Remember WinNuke?!

Yeah, all of the things.. There was a lot more "easily available" back in the day.

Sub7 had a "matrix screen mode" at one point so you could black out someone's monitor and freak them out.
