I knit and crochet constantly. This was from a pattern from the 70s or 80s. I have another couple that I'm working on. I used to knit sweaters but living near Phoenix had kinda made that pointless.

Yeah, they love the ones made of cheap acrylic. I have one I'm making out of super wash wool which I'm sure will be a bigger hit.

Can I ask how many word you typically speak per second when narrating?
I think I do the average so 155 per minute, so 2.5 per second? I think it gets a finished hour out of around 9k or so words although it depends on the writing style.
Wow that is wonderful work. Reminds me of my grandma, she knitted blankets for all the grandkids back in the day. I still have mine and use it all the time. Great memories.
Thank you! We've always been knitter's in my family. I learned knitting from my mom and then crochet on my own. My mom-mom (great grandma) crocheted me an Afghan when I was a kid that I still have. One of the few things that's made it though the 40+ moves.

Thank you! My mom taught me to knit when I was around 4 or 5 and then I checked out a book on crochet and taught myself that just after. I've always done it to keep my hands busy. I've always got a zillion half done projects laying around.

We've got hand stitched blankets everywhere in order to protect all the leather from his claws :)
I've learned not to sell them. They take so long and I put them down so frequently. I have one I've been working on for well over a decade.
I do the same, I drape everything in them although there's no way leather would survive in my apartment no matter how many afghans were tossed and ticked around.
Definitely understandable :) The last crochet one we purchased was 8'x7' with a giant wolf's angel cross across the middle. We were charged a certain amount but after looking carefully and seeing how tight the stitching is and how much work is involved, we paid double asking price since the time that was involved was the most precious commodity we received.

Have four afghans my mom made years ago. They come out every winter. Sure have enjoyed them through the years.
Something with Celtic knots?
This one is just circles with a bit of an art deco thing going on. I have seen some pretty knit pieces with Celtic knots I might give a go at some point.

How do you do this, with knitting needles?
This one was crochet, so with a single hook. I knit as well but crochet is sturdier for afghans. Although I do have a knit one I'm currently working on.
My ex promised to make me one that was black and gold like this. 6 years later, when I finally left, I got to take it with me. It was only half way done. Thanks.
My mom used to joke about never promise a man a sweater because you'll break up before you finish. My current one has gotten numerous hats and a Freddie sweater to go with his knife glove and a few afghans. Then again I think we are nearing 10 years together.

Aww. I'm sorry she never finished it. My last bf didn't see the point in any my hobbies. He absolutely hated that I wasted time knitting when I could be making money to give him.

The tedious part for me is the sewing it together. I can do the main parts forever but have to force myself to piece it all together. When I was a kid and lived with my mom she preferred the sewing together part so I would just give her the stock of pieces of sweaters or whatever and she'd get them put together.
I love being able to stitch and hardly look which works better with knitting. I can even read a book and knit. Crochet has a nice rhythm too but I have to look down more.
