Previous homeowner did some funny renovations. In one section the drywall was glued and screwed to the old plaster. This section was nailed in. They put up insulation which was a nice touch, but it's an interior wall.

Not to belittle your situation, but I'd prefer an interdimensional portal to a spare room, but I'll let you know. It could just be a portal to a spare room.
