I'm still using powdered boric acid from the same 4oz container I bought at CVS in 1990 ($1.59 on the price tag). It doesn't take much, added to sugar and water. I used soda bottle caps filled with mix and put them in the path of the ants, they would eat it up in a day. A couple days later, no more ants. The colony would collapse because the boric acid mix would be fed to the Queen and make her sterile. I didn't know it works on wasps and hornets.

It’s good stuff. We make ant bait, termite bait, soapy water and boric as a spray for emergencies… just bought a 50lb bag, no smaller size of pure available. Will last into my children’s future…

You don't want to kill ants unless they are infesting your house. Ants are very valuable insects.

Had carpenter i think (black ants) invade my home i sold about a decade or so ago.
Exterminator came for termites poison bombed sprayed the crawspace. Within week 10000 black ants invaded kitchen. No joke shop vac'ed 1000's out at a time and 1hr later were back.
Those little good bugs in that quanity are freaky. Especially since the tend to all move to one spot and sit on top of each other. Looks like a giant fucking ant with no end with alot of eyes ect. Exterminator came back i assume used this method and they were gone. Was a strange 2 weeks. Cool or not u get 10000 in your domicile and you will be calling people to fix
