I remember once hearing that if you found a way to violate the law of energy conservation you would become all powerful. Let's think about this. Lets say we did create a source of free energy. It produced about 1 watt of electricity but cost about $1 million to produce what with all it's rare earth metals, look up a lot up space because of it's highly thermally conductive radiator, and required a couple tons of lead to insulate the chamber from ambient vacuum energy.. so what. Even if it was only the size and expense of a washing machine it wouldn't be worth it.
