I recently learned of some very disturbing activities being perpetrated by a North Carolina based Asatru cult called Urdr Dypt. ​ Cult is a strong word, but it really does apply here. ​ This group is ran by Joshua Myles Sanford (Oloffson now). “JM” Olofsson has a history of using this religion to target women. Recently I’ve learned of two events where JM and others in this group appear to be targeting women. First was an event where JM lied to a new member telling her that the Gods wanted them together, that they were married in a past life, and even though he is a “relationship counselor” he advised her to leave her husband so he could sleep with her. Once done he allowed her to be publicly shamed by his group and her life to be threatened. He took a slap on the wrist even though he had done things like this to closer to ten girls in the last couple years alone. He stepped down and within a couple months was right back into the group working in the same capacity. ​ His wife came forward and lamented the abuse, but ultimately took him back like many women in a abusive relationship do. They all swear pledges to each other punishable by death, so even though the current president knows he does these things they remain quiet and he continues. Even while it is happening. ​ About a month before JM did this another member of his group went out to meet new members. On that trip this member slept with the new members wife, causing this same cycle of abuse. The same process happened where this person apologized then was immediately let back in with a slap on the wrist. ​ This group is currently under FBI investigation and on a watch list, and the police are now involved. If you have had similar experiences or know of someone who has with this group please advise them there is an active investigation and the police or FBI would greatly appreciate any information. ​ The fear is that this group might have a inner group of members who are targeting women and using this religion as a cover for these activities.
