I would put "protesters" in quotes. They are vandals first.
Only 2 years though? Why not 2 years and 10 years of probation, if you break the law again you serve out whatever is left of that 10 years in jail.

It's only 2 years because they weren't racist. That's where the 10 year sentences start.
