It’s beside the point anyhow. Let’s say he was part of a republican extremist group.. so what?

YOU STILL CAN’T MURDER HIM.

The fact that the fucking cops are even looking into that aspect of it is problematic in of itself.

All true, but the guy used it as some sort of excuse to run over the kid. Did he fear for his life and hit the gas? Hard to say if he can twist that into an effective defense with a politicized judge and jury. Investigating and nullifying the claim helps the prosecution. I like that it also kills any lefty talking point like the kid deserved it because he was a right wing extremist. Well, he wasn't, not that it should even matter, like you said.

I disagree as stated elsewhere in this thread. To even discuss that aspect of it - particularly on part of the cops - implies that “oh, well, if he were a “republican extremist”, it would have been ok then.”

I think it was a part of the proper verification of the facts of the case against the driver. I imagine they checked the driver's social media too. MSM may run with it and construe it as a legitimate excuse but the court of law [used to] prosecute on the facts of the case. There is likely a lot more to this story and social media might reveal clues to what really happened. Was the driver a perv trying to pick up the victim? Kid refused, maybe called him names, so the driver went around the block and ran him down?

From what I understand even corporations might ask for your social media when applying for a job. Nothing posted is private.
