The comedy of clown world at its finest. I have shoulder surgery scheduled, so wife's brother offers to help out. Gets his Covid vax to be safe around my toddlers like an idiot. Within 2 days of arrival he's at the ER with huge pustules on neck and armpit. Turns out to be shingles.

My twin 16 month old daughters hadn't been vaccinated for Chicken pox as their scheduled 12-month doc visit was postponed to 18 months due to fake pandemic reasons.

Two weeks later and my shoulder is fine while both girls are covered in pox. Meanwhile, my wife's super fit and healthy 30 year old brother is suffering big time. He's been to the ER twice this week, and now might have spinal meningitis.

A shot to boost immune system apparently weakens it to the point of reactivating harmless viruses. My 70-year old mother got her vax as well due to asthma.... Now she's got slime coming out of her lungs and is terrified.

Just FYI in case any of you were even considering this shot.

I was stressed out and over worked then my house mate at the time got chicken pocks.

The doc said the fact my house mate had chicken pocks was not relevant; whatever.

It sucked. For several years later it would feel like water was dripping off my eyebrow, nerve damage. All better now.

Gotcha. Apparently I had chicken pox when I was very little so I am at a higher risk of getting shingles. Would you recommend I get the vaccine or no?

No I wouldnt get it. Like I said my mom got the shingles vaccine and got shingles sometime after that anyway. Actually i believe she said she has had shingles twice since then.

The drug acyclovir really fixed me up quick. Some pharmaceuticals are ok and some are not. The doc said if I were in mexico or something like that I would have lost my eyesight in my left eye.

If you are worried, do some research and get a hold of some acyclovir. The hardest part with that is diagnosing yourself; especially when you are sick and nervous; but if the shit has hit the fan and the drug stores are closed it would be good to have some knowledge and meds handy.
