"Conspiracy theory" is just about 6 months off from being proven fact in a lot of cases it seems.

Just like the political class though. Lie, Lie, Lie some more, then when you think people are not noticing let some truth sneak out but then just keep lying.

After the wet market story and the it's-the-flu red herring, the lab leak is their last line of defence before they have to admit the involvement of the Ft. Detrick lab. If they are lucky then the there-are-no-viruses-at-all people can stop us from asking questions before that happens.

The scientific papers created in Wuhan about gain-of-function research and chimera viruses have US institutions in their funding section (USAID, NIH, ..) - I don't think they work together with the Chinese military.
