I believed it was totally legit for most of my life. That's a good exemple of how they are powerful enough to coin a new term and imposed it on the society. It's the old trope repeat a lie enough time it becomes the truth. Same thing with many other academic '''truths''' like the Holocaust or the one species of human all coming out of Africa.
