Just from the tweet it seems that they had a contract with Starbucks.

Sure, but was that worldwide, or just in that area? Starbucks operates in a lot of places.

For that matter, the area of France Perrier is from is pretty arid, should they not be selling water either.

Also lots of evil fucking companies do this shit. IIRC Pepsi had/has a bottling plant in LA and Dessani is just LA tap water as well.

Again... I don't see why it's evil for pepsi to sell me water in a bottle but fine for the government to sell me water in a pipe.

Pretty sure I've seen that brand before and it's at least the continental US.

Green it is not but I don't care what those baguette sucking fags do, it's not my water or my taxes.

"What's so evil about deceptive marketing, price gauging and exploiting a tax subsidized public works system for huge profits goy?!"

Hmmm, ok, if they're shipping it to places with plenty of water then that's pretty jewey. At least with Dasani they just use local water.

That's fair.

I'm not familiar with the brand, never seen it before. What deceptive things are they saying?

price gauging

I don't recognise price gouging as thing. If people are willing to pay a lot of money for luxury water then they've decided it's a fair price. If I don't think it's fair I won't buy it and it's not my problem.

Ok, that's fair enough if it's literally just tapwater and they're paying below it's worth because grafts. The problem in that equation though is the subsidised public works system. Take that out of the picture and there's no potential for corruption.

I actually have to make a correction to my other post, Aqaufina is Pepsi and was being bottled in LA last I checked. Dasani is coke and they hate white people, and do all sorts of other horrible shit so fuck them too. All these water brands are fucked in some way. I will go with Deer Park or Poland Springs if I absolutely need to, otherwise I carry a vacuum insulated stainless steel water bottle which I fill up from my well and lasts all day. I don't need the expense, the waste, the BPA, the thin ass leaky bottles that go warm in 10 minutes, etc.

Just look at it (testaqua.com) "Natural Spring Water", Fiji inspired reverse label, premium pricing, some jew-y shit about hydrating 3rd world kids (guaranteed that 'generosity' stops at their tax write off limit). Then there is the fucking name:

Ethos: the distinguishing character, sentiment, moral nature, or guiding beliefs of a person, group, or institution

yeah oooookaaaaay, lol.

To an extent I agree and this is more on Starbucks. Whenever the quality of a product fails to live up to it's price point (as compared to it's competitors) and it's clearly not blowing that cash on attaining market share (ie: advertisement) and it's clearly still making a profit/not totally mismanged (ie: not in market free fall).... Then some sort of price fuckery is at play, in this case an exclusivity contract with Starbucks that allows them to more than double their price per bottle under the guise of being 'premium' and 'ethical' while failing to live up to either standard.

Incorrect, I understand the corpo-libertarian angle but you are just kicking the can down the road. Take public water out of the picture and you have a fucking banana republic inspired mess (en.wikipedia.org). Water has always been a public commodity (at least in the West). Without public water you would have the oil industry but for water, employing regulatory capture and creating artificial scarcity to raise prices. Can you imagine a world where Nestle owns the rights to the water table under your house and you aren't allowed to have a well because it's theirs, and if they want to put a pump on your front lawn and truck that shit out they can?

The simple solution is to meter the fucking bottling plant, which would have happened decades ago without the greasing of palms.
