I think when a person shits on the carpet, he/she need his/her nose rubbed in it, and allowed never to forget it....anything less allows idiots to employ selective amnesia and cognitive dissonance. A major problem these days is no one wants to admit when they are wrong, nor does anyone want to be the baddie and force such an admission, which allows the idiot to maintain his illusion of infallibility. Fee-fees and wishful thinking now trump reality!
If reality breeds contempt rather than respect, then they're lost and nothing will get through to them.
