Snakes have always been associated with healing. This was probably due to the belief that they were immortal, and would keep renewing themselves forever by shedding their skins unless killed in some violent way. The symbol of the great healing god of the Greeks, Asclepius, is a serpent. Treacle, which came to be known as a concoction of molassas, was originally made of snake fat and was a healing medicine. In the 18th and 19th centuries "snake oil salesmen" would travel around in covered wagons, putting on little shows and selling their "snake oil" remedies that were reputed by them to heal all diseases and complaints. These had nothing connected with snakes in them, of course -- they were mostly alcohol.
In view of this mythological history of snakes in medicine, it is interesting that we see this conspiracy theory crop up that says the Covid shots are made of snake venom. It's ridiculous, but it seems to be persistent.
