It's unfortunate, but I totally grasp the paradox this guy has. He suffers from mass hysteria. His brain does not function normally. He will hear a lie and believe it. Later, a new lies replaces the old lie. He doesn't suffer cognitive dissonance because the old lie disappears completely: no paradox. When you confront him with both lies then he goes apoplectic on you.

If the Florida Tourism Board had any sense they'd be making commercials right now to play on this.

Ominous narrator: As the deadly Covid-19 pandemic sweeps the world threatening to kill all in its path, life in Florida continues as if there is nothing out of the ordinary. While sensible governments the world over take action (cue footage of police arresting young girl in New York, police road blocks in Australia, etc.) Florida does nothing (footage of people enjoying the beach, restaurants, bars, etc.). If the idea of the government just allowing people to go to the beach, or to dine at a restaurant, attend a baseball game, or visit a theme park whenever they want - like running dogs following whatever whim strikes them (a subtle reference to how communist Vietnamese referred to American freedom) - makes you uncomfortable, we advise against travel to Florida.
