My pureblood, based girlfriend tested positive last night after fever and sore throat all day.

I took her to the urgent care last night and had been with her every night all week.

I woke this morning with a feeling like a head cold coming on.

So I go to this site: https://covid19.onedaymd.com/2021/04/find-a-doctor-who-will-prescribe-hydroxychloroquine.html?m=1

I can’t seem to find anyone who will talk to me today.

One of the doctors listed there is this guy: https://www.txmedicalcare.com/covid19/

This dude is saying HCQ and IVM are ineffective against newer strains. Anyone heard this?

I taking vitamins and such, but would prefer to be treated if possible.

UPDATE I ended up with a low grade fever that’s lasted the last two days.

I got a consult with a doctor from the frontline doctors today, as did my woman.

I’ll be getting a prescription for ivermectin, zpak, and a steroid.

I actually feel a lot better today. Still gonna take my medicine though.

Doc on the phone confirmed that ivermectin works on the new variants, as well (assuming variants are even a thing with this virus to begin with).

Haven’t heard that, last week my sister and nephew tested positive and were better on day three with hcq/zinc and supplements in the morning and ivermectin/zinc supplements at night.

The fevers were gone within 8 hours, normal breathing, headaches gone on day two and my sister only has a slight stiffed nose know.

My brother and his wife the same 2 days ago and they were over it in 8 hours also, the other 4 days cleaned up the remain symptoms.

There would be no reason for either not to work, they transport zinc to your cells and kills/prevents infection for most viruses. Plus they ca reduce inflammation.

have you heard anything about this?

The long answer (1h) about ivermectin and omicron: https://odysee.com/@DrMobeenSyed:1/Ivermectin-and-omicron:e

Tl;dr: Ivermectin has about 20 mechanisms of action, there are always enough left.

Omicron has a new mechanism to enter cells, it doesn't need TMPRSS2. This means that TMPRSS2 suppressors like bromhexine don't help anymore.

HCQ changes the pH value of the cell membrane, maybe this effect is more important than before, but nobody tested that.

Anyway, Omicron is half as dangerous than the average influenza virus - no need to worry if you are < 80 years. For some people it's over in 2 days, worst outcome is 3 weeks headache that can be treated with 2 aspirin a day.

My girlfriend apparently read that HCQ still works on newer variants whereas IVM doesn’t. But I have no idea.

I’ve only been taking vitamins and throughout today, I feel no worse than I did when I woke up.

I still haven’t had a fever. I’m hoping that my current actions are staving it off from progressing any further.

Just to put it in perspective: This is from a small study in California - these are your odds compared to an average flu (0.0017% vs 0.0966%): https://pic8.co/sh/eqKORz.png

The main mechanism of action of ivermectin still works (protecting the nucleus of infected cells from proteins that suppress the self defence). It works for many other viruses too because they all use the same mechanism: https://portlandpress.com/biochemsoctrans/article/49/1/281/227568/Antivirals-that-target-the-host-IMP-1-virus

well IVM and HCQ are very dangerous if you take enough to kill a gorilla(not being racist i mean like 500lb gorilla) but that dose was given on a (((study))) showing how neither of them works

Did he post the study were 12mg’s were given for 1 day?

And hcq is 400mg as an upper limit and ivermectin is 50mg/kg for a toxic dose and a dose for a sick person should be .6 an average 200 pound man would take 54.6mg and a toxic dose would be 4550mg for 200 pounds. Or a dose intended for a 7,600 pound animal.

Boiron Oscillococcinum (WalMart, Amazon) cured a bad sore throat I had back in the summer, in just a few hours.

its all the same virus

Have you heard his evidence he links to?

“Summary of analysis” is a female computer voice attacking Fox News and saying hcq and ivermectin have never worked.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/stevensalzberg/2021/11/01/ivermectin-still-doesnt-treat-covid-19/?sh=60ac920a3837

He seems to be pushing antibodies which cost more.

Research starting with SARS in 2002-3 has shown Chloroquine and Hydroxychloroquine competitively inhibit COVID19 from getting into our cells and further hinders viral replication (multiplying). Hydroxychloroquine is one of the drugs that helps Zinc get into the cell. The three work together by hindering COVID19 virus. Newer strains of COVID19, however, are more adherent to ACE2 receptors and appear no longer effectively hindered by earlier drugs.

More deadly the the original sars then? Once the zinc is inside the cell the nucleus can’t replicate, who cares about it adhering to a cell if the nucleus can’t replicate a new virus to infect another cell? These drugs stop viral replication not ace2 adherence

ACE2 is a protein on the surface of many cell types. It is an enzyme that generates small proteins – by cutting up the larger protein angiotensinogen – that then go on to regulate functions in the cell.

I don’t know if anyone read what the guy said on his site that I linked to, but he said that IVM doesn’t work on omicron or delta because they have a different mechanism than previous variants..something having to do with ACE2.

Ivermectin still has 20 other mechanisms, just look at the verboten post in this thread.

His link on the site concluding it doesn’t work says it never worked.
