Fuck, too true. Well, it would be extra lulzy if the police busted their private security for every little thing until they quit. But that would be a ton of work, and there's more crime than ever going on, so I guess they just won't have time for that like they would in the movies.
Most police have security guard and private investigator credentials for side jobs, to say nothing of the ones with prior or current military service, so I expect a good chunk of criminal activity will fall under greater scrutiny now that the law enforcement establishment has been cut loose. It's very likely that security contracting companies will be hiring cops to fill those roles, functionally re-privatizing police services.
