They want meat to be expensive so when they come out with an insect replacement, people are happy to have something that tastes like the meat they haven't enjoyed very much for years. But with the bugs it'll be cheap and "close enough."
They are doing the same with rent, cause a rent crisis, make sure no one can afford it, then show up with a WEF approved solution, and people will be happy they can finally afford rent. They are already there with making sure it's pretty much impossible to afford a mortgage. First they'll come for mortgages, then rent, then they'll give you a pod for super cheap and NPCs will lap it up because they'll finally have money to spend on Amazon and their $300 a month in subscription services.
