What do you mean by efficient? An average electric car needs about 8 hours to charge where a diesel car needs a few minutes to refill.

I'm pretty sure the diesel consumed to charge an electric car would get a diesel car to travel a much longer distance.

For that size generator absolutely.

There is probably a way to scale it where it is a wash.

Also those type of generators can be fueled by natural gas. Probably propane too, but I'm not sure on that.

I mean getting most power on the road per diesel used. Diesel engines can be quite inefficient if not at the best RPM.

For a full charge, but you can apparently charge a Tesla from about 10% to 90% in an hour

I'm not sure about that. I've never seen any reliable numbers on the efficiency of generators or battery charging.

Are we talking about a specific electric car vs an average diesel one?

reliable numbers on the efficiency of generators or battery charging.

Check the diesel consumption of a generator that has to charge an average electric car for 8 hours.

These 3 electric cars are the only ones I know how fast they charge. I know there are slower ones.
