This is the printer I have that I used to use for color printing or projects that called for inkjet. It also was my fax machine up until I stopped having a landline like 6 years ago. I’ve pretty much used my monochrome laser exclusively for years.

I have a need to use it to print color but it’s not working. The color cartridges are 3 individual colors. I haven’t printed color in years. No amount of cleaning cycles helps. Basically all three have nothing coming out. I’ve replaced all the toner carts with new ones but still (almost) nothing is coming out.

I’m inclined to just pull the carts out and dump rubbing alcohol everywhere but that’s probably not a good idea. I’m now $45 into new ink and I have this vinyl sticker paper I want to use. Anyone have any ideas to get this thing spraying color again?

Is the printhead replaceable? Can it be ordered? How much is a new printhead?

I had a spare printhead for my Canon all-in-one circa 2010. I think it was around $40 at the time, printer was around $100-$120. 9600 dpi borderless print capability.

If your print head is removeable, I'd pull it out and soak it in 91% isopropyl for a day. We used 91% as solvent on circuit boards and load boards in semicondictor test. Then proceed with the process below.

If it's not removable, refill some empty ink cartridges with 91% iso and send it through the cleaning cycle a few times to prime. Give it an hour to penetrate and cycle it again, try printing a color test page , wait, repeat a few times.

If this doesn't work, I think you're SOL on this printhead.

Hey thank you. I’ll research what exactly is the print head and if I can disassemble it.

Should be one assembky - I'd remove it from the printer but not try to disassemble it if that's what you mean.

Yeah I just meant figure out how to get it out of there.
