You gots ta hire them colors!
What you need to do is order a print head cleaning kit on eBay. They're cheap and they work.
Essentially, you fill a syringe with cleaning fluid and force it through the print head, one color at a time.
I did see this. You free up the print head then put a napkin under. Seems I could make the kit myself for cheaper. Hmmmm.
You could do it yourself, but whoever made the kit supplies the proper solvent and hose size. I doubt you can obtain the necessary parts for less. But ya, i did this and it worked fine for me.
The kit the guy was shilling in the video I saw was $25 but I searched Amazon and the same shit is ~$7.00. Worth a shot. I’ll know Wednesday.
How much was it? I've found in my extensive experience that inkjets have a lifespan. The cheaper the printer, the shorter the life.
It might be time for a new one.
$500 or so back in like 2012.
The issue must be blocked jets from no use for years. I just don’t know how to unblock them.
YouTube had a super long video using winded and having to access certain things which looked really intense.
I guess I’m looking for a shortcut.
Oof. Good luck then. There's no real shortcut short of disassembly.
Too late now. lol. I’ve made a mess of things. And I meant to type windex earlier. Something about ammonia.
Is the printhead replaceable? Can it be ordered? How much is a new printhead?
I had a spare printhead for my Canon all-in-one circa 2010. I think it was around $40 at the time, printer was around $100-$120. 9600 dpi borderless print capability.
If your print head is removeable, I'd pull it out and soak it in 91% isopropyl for a day. We used 91% as solvent on circuit boards and load boards in semicondictor test. Then proceed with the process below.
If it's not removable, refill some empty ink cartridges with 91% iso and send it through the cleaning cycle a few times to prime. Give it an hour to penetrate and cycle it again, try printing a color test page , wait, repeat a few times.
If this doesn't work, I think you're SOL on this printhead.
Hey thank you. I’ll research what exactly is the print head and if I can disassemble it.
Should be one assembky - I'd remove it from the printer but not try to disassemble it if that's what you mean.
Yeah I just meant figure out how to get it out of there.
