Never thought to just replace them w/ an equivalent linux build? There's nothing XP is doing atm Linux hasn't been capable of for years.

The software that talks to the devices runs on XP. I don't have the time, desire, or intelligence to reverse engineer a proprietary protocol program that talks to a lathe that's in use 24/7.
